Exam & Certification

As of my last update in September 2021, the CSPO certification from the Scrum Alliance does not require a separate exam. Completion of the CSPO course is typically sufficient to earn the certification. However, its always a good idea to verify the current requirements with the Scrum Alliance or your chosen training provider, as policies may change over time.

To earn the CSPO certification, you need to complete a two-day CSPO course offered by a Scrum Alliance-approved Certified Scrum Trainer. The course provides training on Scrum principles, the role of the Product Owner, and related practices. After completing the course, you will receive a certification from the Scrum Alliance.

To renew your CSPO certification, you need to earn a certain number of SEUs within a two-year period. The exact number of SEUs required for renewal can vary. You can earn SEUs by participating in learning activities such as attending conferences, workshops, webinars, and courses related to Agile and Scrum.

Yes, there is typically a renewal fee associated with renewing your CSPO certification. The fee amount can vary and is set by the Scrum Alliance.
